The seasonal flu shot is free in Ontario through the province's Universal Influenza Immunization Program — you don't need to pay, and you don't need to see a doctor first. We're enrolled in the program and give flu shots here at the pharmacy each season.
It's worth having if you're over 65, pregnant, living with a chronic condition such as diabetes, asthma or heart disease, or if you live with or care for someone who is. Honestly though, it's worth having for most people — it's a few minutes now against a week in bed later.
